07:00 hrs – Your adventure begins as your dedicated driver/guide picks you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Settle into your private 4×4 Land Cruiser Jeep and begin your scenic journey to one of Kenya’s most breathtaking parks – Tsavo West National Park.

The drive takes you along a smooth highway, with rest stops to stretch, enjoy refreshments, and take in the unfolding landscape. As we traverse the great African savannah, you’ll spot local homesteads, acacia-dotted plains, and Maasai herdsmen wrapped in bright shukas, tending to their cattle.

Welcome to the Wild Beauty of Tsavo West

Upon arrival at Tsavo West, you’ll be greeted by a landscape of stunning contrasts – from open plains and rolling bushland to dense woodlands, ancient volcanic formations, and lush riverine ecosystems. This diversity supports an equally rich array of wildlife.

We’ll embark on our first game drive, searching for:

• Majestic elephants and elusive big cats like lion and cheetah
• Graceful zebra, imposing buffalo, towering giraffes, and more
• Colorful ostrich and other savannah birdlife

After a hearty lunch at your lodge or tented camp, we’ll head out again, this time to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary. This 70 sq. km protected area is home to over 80 endangered black rhinos, a rare and thrilling sight on any African safari.

Bird lovers will be delighted by the prolific birdlife Tsavo West has to offer. Depending on the season, look out for:

• African skimmers, yellow bishops, goshawks,
• Weavers, kingfishers, hornbills, herons, and many more

As the sun begins to set behind the red Tsavo hills, we’ll head back to your selected lodge or tented camp for a relaxed evening and dinner under the stars. This is your first night immersed in the wild – a perfect ending to a thrilling day.

Tsavo West – Amboseli National Park

Rise early to experience the golden glow of sunrise as it sweeps across the Tsavo landscape – a serene and magical moment when the bush awakens, and wildlife stirs in the soft morning light. The early hours are ideal for a morning game drive, when sightings are often at their best.

A Hidden Oasis – Mzima Springs

Before departing Tsavo West, we’ll visit one of its most enchanting features – Mzima Springs. This lush, spring-fed oasis is a haven for hippos, crocodiles, colorful fish, and a myriad of birds. Step out of the Jeep and enjoy a guided nature walk along shaded paths, through green groves and past crystal-clear pools teeming with life. The contrast between the arid park and this verdant spot is striking and unforgettable.

To the Shadow of Kilimanjaro – Amboseli National Park

We’ll continue our journey with a scenic 2-hour drive to Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most iconic destinations. Watch as Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak, slowly rises into view – a majestic backdrop to the sweeping plains of Amboseli.

This park is famously home to large herds of free-roaming elephants, often seen crossing the dusty tracks or grazing peacefully in the wetlands, framed by Kilimanjaro’s snowy summit.

With its open landscape and sparse vegetation, Amboseli is among the best parks in Africa for easy and rewarding wildlife viewing. Be on the lookout for:

• Lion, cheetah, buffalo, zebra, and giraffe
• An abundance of birdlife, especially around the marshes and seasonal lakes
• Photographic moments at every turn – this is a dream setting for photographers

In the late afternoon, as the sun begins to dip, the clouds around Mount Kilimanjaro may part, revealing its snow-capped peak bathed in sunset light – one of the most iconic sights in Africa.

Amboseli – Nairobi

There are countless reasons to rise early at Amboseli, but chief among them is the chance to witness Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit glowing in the soft morning light. On clear mornings, the mountain reveals itself in all its glory – an unforgettable moment and a photographer’s dream.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast with a view, as your lodge or camp offers you one last taste of the wild — framed by the ever-present grandeur of Kilimanjaro.

One Last Game Drive

Before we depart Amboseli, we’ll venture out for a final morning game drive, soaking up the last sights and sounds of the savannah. Watch for elephants marching across the plains, perhaps a final encounter with lions, and those smaller, unexpected moments that make every safari unique.

As we exit the park, we’ll keep our eyes open – this is still safari country, and wildlife can surprise you at every bend.

Return to Nairobi

We’ll rejoin the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway, travelling through scenic African landscapes and small towns along the way. Breaks will be taken for refreshments and to stretch as needed.

Expect to arrive back in Nairobi around 16:30 hrs (4:30 PM). Your driver/guide will drop you off at your hotel, residence, or directly at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, depending on your travel plans.
