What to Expect on This 6-Day Safari
Day 1: Diani Beach – Tsavo East National Park
Depart from your Diani Beach resort for the scenic drive along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, with refreshment stops en route. Arrive at Tsavo East National Park in time for an afternoon game drive. Expect to encounter vast herds of lions, elephants, zebras, and a dazzling variety of birdlife including ostriches, herons, and buzzards. Overnight at your chosen lodge or tented camp inside the park.

Day 2: Tsavo East – Amboseli National Park
Wake up early to catch the wildlife at their most active as you head south to Amboseli. Arriving around midday, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and observe the park’s famous elephant herds. The afternoon is reserved for game drives in this unique park known for its stunning scenery and wildlife. Overnight at your Amboseli lodge or tented camp.

Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Nakuru National Park
Travel through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley, with optional stops at Lakes Naivasha and Elmenteita along the way. Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its rocky cliffs, acacia forests, and shimmering lake dotted with pelicans and, during season, vibrant pink flamingos. The park also shelters black and white rhinos, lions, and leopards. Overnight at your lodge or camp near the lake.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive around Lake Nakuru before heading to the iconic Masai Mara. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive through the rolling grasslands and acacia-studded plains, home to vast herds of zebra and wildebeest, as well as abundant predators. Overnight in the Mara at your chosen accommodation.

Day 5: Full Day in the Masai Mara
Spend a full day exploring the Mara’s abundant wildlife, including the “Big Five,” cheetahs, Thompson’s gazelles, giraffes, and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles abound. During the Great Migration (July – October), witness one of nature’s greatest spectacles as thousands of animals cross the river. Optional activities include visits to a Maasai village or a breathtaking hot air balloon safari (arranged on request). Overnight in the Mara.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Nairobi – Diani Beach
Begin the day with a final early morning game drive, capturing the Mara’s beauty at sunrise. Afterwards, transfer to Nairobi for your flight back to the coast. Enjoy aerial views of Kenya’s stunning landscapes as you fly back to your Diani Beach resort, arriving with memories to last a lifetime.

Day 01 :

Daily Itinerary

DIANI – TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
Distance: 160 km – Approx. 3 hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your Diani Beach resort or hotel. From there, we head to Mombasa, crossing the picturesque Likoni Ferry.
Enjoy a scenic inland drive along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway as you journey toward the southern entry of Tsavo East National Park. Upon arrival, we make a brief refreshment stop at the park gate (refreshments are payable directly).
Once inside Tsavo East, the game viewing begins. Keep your eyes peeled for majestic lions, swift cheetahs, graceful giraffes, striped zebras, gentle elephants, and tiny dik-diks among many others.
After a relaxing lunch at your safari lodge or tented camp, we head back out for a mid-afternoon game drive. As the midday heat fades, the park’s wildlife becomes more active, and the African landscape transforms under the golden hues of sunset.
Your knowledgeable safari driver-guide will expertly navigate the park’s trails, pointing out animals and sharing fascinating insights into their habits and the environment.

Wildlife Highlights in Tsavo East:
Expect to encounter vast herds of iconic dust-red elephants, buffalo, lions, elusive leopards, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudu, gerenuk, and the rare hirola.

Return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and a well-deserved rest, surrounded by the sounds and spirit of the African wilderness.

Day 02 :

TSAVO EAST – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Distance: 300 km – Approx. 5 hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
It’s an early date with nature as your day begins with a morning game viewing drive while still inside Tsavo East National Park.
After enjoying the sights and sounds of the wild, we depart Tsavo East and journey towards Amboseli National Park.
By mid-day, you’ll arrive at the foot of the towering Mount Kilimanjaro, the majestic backdrop to Amboseli’s vast plains. Take time to freshen up and relax at your lodge or tented camp before setting out on a short, focused late afternoon game drive.
Amboseli’s open landscape makes wildlife spotting easier and offers exceptional photographic opportunities, with Mount Kilimanjaro providing an unforgettable and iconic scenery for both amateur and professional photographers alike.

Wildlife Highlights in Amboseli:
Here you may encounter large elephant herds, elusive cheetahs, buffalo, mongoose, hyrax, dik-dik, zebra, lion, lesser kudu, nocturnal porcupines, and a rich variety of bird species.

After your afternoon game drive, retire to your accommodation in the park for dinner and a restful night immersed in the African wilderness.

Day 03 :

AMBOSELI – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Distance: 420 km – Approx. 7 hours (with lunch stop at Lake Naivasha)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
An early start sets the pace for today’s journey to Lake Nakuru National Park.
The drive is long but rewarding, offering scenic views and memorable glimpses of Kenya’s diverse landscapes. Along the way, you’ll pause to marvel at the dramatic escarpment of the Great Rift Valley — a breathtaking natural wonder.
Further stops include the fresh waters of Lake Naivasha and the alkaline shores of Lake Elmenteita, both renowned for their stunning beauty and abundant birdlife.
Arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park by mid-afternoon, you’ll enjoy a short game and bird watching drive. The park’s shimmering lake often hosts flocks of graceful flamingoes and pelicans, among many other bird species.
Lake Nakuru is also a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos, making your visit a special encounter with these magnificent creatures.

What to Expect at Lake Nakuru:
Flamingoes in their iconic pink hues, over 56 mammal species, notable landmarks such as Lion Hill, Balloon Cliff, and the famous “Out of Africa” viewpoints, alongside approximately 550 different plant species that create a rich and vibrant ecosystem.

After your game drive, unwind for the night at your chosen lodge or tented camp within the park, immersed in nature’s tranquility.

Day 04 :

LAKE NAKURU – MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
Distance: 290 km – Approx. 6 hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Start your morning with a peaceful game and bird viewing drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, taking in the early activity of wildlife and the vibrant birdlife along the shores.
After breakfast, you’ll depart for the world-renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve. The drive offers beautiful landscapes and glimpses of rural Kenya as you journey southwest.
Arriving at the Masai Mara by mid-afternoon, you will embark on a short game drive to begin exploring this iconic reserve.

Overnight accommodations will be at your chosen Masai Mara lodge or tented camp, where you can relax and prepare for more thrilling safari adventures ahead.

Day 05 :

FULL DAY – MASAI MARA

Today is all about immersing yourself in the incredible wildlife spectacle that is the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Known for having the highest and most diverse concentration of wild animals in the region, the Mara offers an unforgettable safari experience.

The vast, tree-studded savannah plains, pleasant climate, and rich variety of wildlife combine to create a paradise for game viewing.

We will spend the entire day exploring the reserve, tracking the majestic Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—along with countless other fascinating species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River, where you can relax and watch hippos and crocodiles, or perhaps witness the breathtaking Great Migration if visiting between July and October.

In the evening, retreat to your comfortable lodge or tented camp to rest and reflect on the day’s amazing encounters.

Day 06 :

MASAI MARA – NAIROBI – MOMBASA (Masai Mara to Nairobi approx. 265 km – 5 to 6 hours)

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge or tented camp, your dedicated driver/guide will assist with checkout before setting off for Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital city.

Along the route, your guide will point out the striking Longonot extinct volcano, a stratovolcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Known locally by the Maasai as Oloonong’ot—meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges”—this fascinating geological feature last erupted in the 1860s.

You may choose to take a scenic detour via Lake Naivasha for lunch or optional excursions at an additional cost. Alternatively, you can proceed directly to Nairobi and visit Kiambethu Tea Farm, where a guided tour and a delicious three-course buffet lunch can be arranged (extra cost applies).

Afterwards, continue to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight back to Mombasa.

For those interested in an alternative travel experience, you can opt to take the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train from Nairobi to Mombasa, enjoying a comfortable and scenic journey back to the coast.
