The Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp lies in the Northern Serengeti, a prime location for game viewing and overlooking the famous Tanzanian game park. The main area of the Camp is a spacious, tented space, with tiled floors holding big wooden chairs with colorful cushions and oval-shaped coffee tables, a reception area, and a small gift shop. 

There is a stylish bar set within the lounge area, the ideal place to unwind after a day on safari. There is a large deck area offering commanding views over the plains of the Serengeti and delicious meals are served in the Camp’s dining room. The cuisine is a mix of international and local flavors, buffet-style for breakfast and lunch, and a table d’hote menu presented at dinner.

The Camp comprises a central fire pit where guests can gather for drinks at sunset or after dinner, a chance to catch up with other guests and discuss the day’s safari adventures. There is a business center and wedding services are on offer. Massage treatments are a treat at Mbuzi Mawe and guests can find souvenirs and local clothing in the gift shop and boutique. There are 16 luxury en-suite tents, beautifully decorated and privately set out in the magnificent bush.

  • Location

    Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp is situated in the center of the famous Serengeti National Park, an eight to ten-hour drive from Arusha, however only one one-hour flight from Arusha Airport to the Seronera Airstrip or Lobo Airstrip. Guests are then driven to the Camp on a 90-minute drive through the savannah. If guests fly into the Lobo Airstrip, the drive will take one hour.

  • Rooms / Tents

    Winding stone pathways transport guests through rocky glades and to each of the 16 luxury tents located on the property. The tents have two queen beds which are covered by mosquito nets, a small sitting area, a work desk and chair, a ceiling fan, and a safe for guests to store their valuables during their stay. There is complimentary WiFi, laundry services, and room service available. Each tent has a private deck with safari chairs and sun lounges, a front-row seat to the spectacular views of the Serengeti. The en-suite bathrooms include twin vanities, a toilet, a shower, and bathroom amenities for guests to use during their stay.
