Uganda’s Most Popular Safari Destination

Discover Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited reserve and for good reason. It boasts a dazzling mix of ecosystems, from open savannahs and acacia woodlands to wetlands, crater lakes, and volcanic landscapes. Its dramatic scenery, including volcanic cones and deep craters, sets the stage for an extraordinary safari experience. Home to 4 of Africa’s Big Five: elephants, lions, leopards, and buffalo. The park hosts 96 species of mammals, including hippos, hyenas, chimpanzees, and the endemic Ugandan kob. The Ishasha sector in the south is famous for rare tree-climbing lions, often spotted lounging in fig trees.

Bird enthusiasts can enjoy over 600 bird species, such as the shoebill stork, pink-backed pelican, martial eagle, papyrus canary, flamingos, and African skimmers making it a birding paradise. Nestled against the Rwenzori Mountains, the park features stunning views of the Kazinga Channel, a wildlife-rich waterway with one of the highest concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the world.

Visitors can explore nearby communities and take part in cultural activities like storytelling, music, dance, and traditional lifestyles, adding a rich human element to your safari.
