Multi-faceted Safari Experiences: You’ll experience every kind of safari – jeep, boat, bicycle & walking – at the varied lakes, forests, and fields of Lake Naivasha and its nearby attractions. Day 01 :

Daily Itinerary

Nairobi – Lake Naivasha Area & Hell’s Gate National Park (100kms – Approx. 2 hrs)

07:00 hrs: We’ll pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO).

We’ll head out on our first safari leg through the magnificent Great Rift Valley escarpment, making stops along the way to take in the dramatic rises and drops of this marvelous landscape.

After our relatively short drive, we’ll arrive at Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater Rift Valley Lake. Here, we will transition from our jeep to a boat for a unique safari across the lake. On the water, we’ll glide past curious hippos, exotic fish, and have a chance to take in the rich avian life, such as cormorants and pelicans.

Then, we’ll switch gears for a guided walking safari to the close-by Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, where we can stroll leisurely past peacefully grazing antelope, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and more.

To round out our diverse day, we’ll bicycle over (or take the 4x4 if you prefer) to Hell’s Gate National Park for a safari through its dramatic gorge, observing gazelle, zebra, and other wildlife amidst the striking scenery.

It’s been a very diverse safari day! We’ll spend the night at the Lake Naivasha safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Day 02 :

Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara National Reserve (240 km – Approx. 5 Hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

We’ll be up early to enjoy the light breaking over the forest and lake, hearing the birds and seeing the animals come to life.

Now, we embark on our journey, traveling over the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley, with captivating views of the escarpment as we traverse through the heart of Masai country.

With the vast expanse of the Masai Mara National Reserve spread before us, you’ll know you have arrived someplace truly special. Kenya’s most popular park, this reserve is world-famous for its incredible density of wildlife. During the Great Migration season (July – October), prepare to witness an unending torrent of gazelle, wildebeest, and zebra streaming into the park.

All of Africa’s iconic Big Five are present here, so we’ll be actively tracking lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, plus other fascinating wildlife such as warthog, ostrich, and so much more.

We’ll spend the first of two nights at the Masai Mara, at your chosen safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 03 :

Full Day – Masai Mara: Unlimited Game Drives & Optional Adventures

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today is a day of unlimited game drives – explore as much as you wish or take time to relax. The choice is yours; simply let your driver/guide know what you’d like to do.

The Masai Mara is renowned for offering the most diverse wildlife in the region, and sightings of lion are not uncommon. We’ll be tracking for elephant, buffalo, rhino, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra.

We’ll visit the iconic Mara River, the very site of the massive influx of animals during the migrating season (July-October). Here at the river, we’ll look for basking hippos and crocodiles, while in the surrounding hills, lions often lie in wait for the massive hordes of grazers entering the reserve.

Optional Activities:

If you wish, you can take an optional visit to a nearby Maasai village to meet the tribespeople and learn about their fascinating culture and daily lives. You might even partake in their famous jumping dance.
Another incredible optional treat is an early morning hot air balloon safari over the park as the sun lights up the forests, savannah, and hills. The sight of the park coming to life from above is a never-to-be-forgotten experience. Just ask your driver/guide for details – they’ll be happy to make all the arrangements.

Our final safari night at the Masai Mara will be at the safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Day 04 :

Masai Mara – Nairobi: Farewell to the Wilderness (265 km – Approx. 5 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp, your dedicated driver-guide will assist you with the check-out process, and we will begin our journey back to Nairobi – Kenya’s vibrant capital city.

On the way, your guide will point out the impressive Longonot extinct volcano, a stratovolcano situated southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. Last thought to have erupted in the 1860s, its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning "mountains of many spurs" or "steep ridges."

You have the option to:

Drive via Naivasha for lunch/excursions (at an extra cost),
Drive directly to Nairobi and include a stop at Kiambethu Farm for a tea farm tour, inclusive of a three-course buffet lunch (at an extra cost),
OR drive straight back to the capital for a later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for your flight back home.

We’ll comfortably drop you off at your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi residence, or Nairobi Airport.
