Explore Kenya’s Diverse Landscapes & Wildlife: Ready to explore the largest game park in Kenya? Tsavo East National Park is a historic reserve with a storied past of legendary lions and magnificent natural features. Its distinctive red-dust soil attracts lively herds of elephants who enjoy rolling around in the rosy-colored earth, giving them an unmistakable appearance. Its sister park, Tsavo West National Park, offers a striking contrast with its lush green hills and springs teeming with hippos and crocodiles. All the major big game, including the Big Five, are present here, but you’ll also find fascinating smaller wildlife like baboons, monkeys, and the delightful bushbaby and dik-dik.

Not far off, we’ll arrive at Amboseli National Park, a smaller reserve that is nonetheless packed with incredible wildlife. The families of elephants are so populous here that the park has earned the moniker, ‘The Land of the Giants’. Another magnificent giant dominating the landscape is Africa’s tallest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, which stands like a colossal, iconic monument at the park’s southern boundary, providing a dramatic backdrop for your wildlife viewing. A bustling wildlife refuge, you may find hyenas, foxes, jackals, monkeys, and a diverse array of birdlife in the park’s marshes. Day 01 :

Daily Itinerary

Nairobi – Tsavo East National Park Safari (320km – Approx. 5 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

6:00 AM: Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport, or Nairobi area residence to begin your adventure to Tsavo East National Park.

We’ll set off in your comfortable 4x4 safari jeep along the Nairobi/Mombasa highway, with planned stops to stretch your legs and enjoy refreshments along the way. Upon entering the park through the southern entrance, prepare to be captivated by the rugged landscape – the perfect setting for your first animal sightings.

Keep an eye out for graceful giraffe, impala, and perhaps some of the majestic big cats, such as lion or cheetah.

We'll take a break for lunch and a chance to freshen up before continuing our safari discoveries, with the possibility of spotting some of the park's famous red-dusted elephants.

During our afternoon game drive, you might witness your first glorious African sunset in the wild – a truly unforgettable way to conclude your first day on safari.

Tonight, we'll stay in Tsavo East National Park, at your chosen safari lodge or tented camp, ensuring a comfortable and immersive experience in the heart of the African wilderness.

Day 02 :

Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park Safari

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’re on safari time, and that means we’re up before the sun, ready to catch its bright orange rays bursting upon the plains and the just awakening wildlife.

We’ll hop into our 4x4 safari jeep for an early game drive, appreciating the new day all around us, expectant with possibilities. Let’s see who we can add to our wildlife checklist!

Breakfast will be served at our accommodation, followed by another game drive as we depart Tsavo East National Park for the quick trip over to Tsavo West National Park.

The colors of this park are distinctly different, featuring lush green rolling hills and magnificent baobab trees. Tsavo West is home to all of Africa’s Big Five, including the elusive rhinos.

We’ll specifically look for these amazing but endangered creatures in the park’s protected rhino sanctuary.

We’ll spend our second safari night in Tsavo West, at your choice of safari lodge or tented camp

Day 03 :

Tsavo West – Amboseli National Park Safari (100kms Appr. 2 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll be up before the birds as we begin our journey in our 4x4 safari jeep. It’s another new day on the savannah, offering a perfect time for photos in the morning’s soft light.

Tsavo West holds many surprises, and one of them is Mzima Springs, a lush oasis nestled in the middle of this rugged terrain.

We’ll make a stop here and take a walk amidst the vibrant greenery of this verdant spring, fed by thousands of gallons of fresh, clear water. This unexpected habitat is home to hippos, crocodiles, various fish, and abundant birdlife. Thirsty inhabitants of the reserve, like elephants and zebras, also frequently visit this spot for its life-giving waters.

Now, it's time for the relatively short drive to Amboseli National Park, where we anticipate arriving in the late morning.

As we approach, keep an eye out for the towering summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, standing majestically over the park.

We’ll enjoy lunch and a chance to relax, then head out for an exciting afternoon safari. Game spotting is rich and active in Amboseli, so we should soon see the park’s famous herds of elephants marching proudly before the iconic Kilimanjaro. Have your camera ready!

At this time of day, the clouds often obscuring the mountain’s snowy peak may clear, revealing one of Africa’s most magnificent and unforgettable sights.

We’ll spend the night at Amboseli, at your chosen safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 04 :

Day 4: Amboseli – Nairobi: Safari Finale & Departure (240kms: Approx. 4 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

On our final safari morning, we’ll celebrate by rising before the sun for a fabulous pre-breakfast game drive. Kilimanjaro's peak may yet be unobstructed, offering one of Africa's most iconic and breathtaking views.

Let's look for elephants on their way to breakfast before enjoying ours at our accommodation. The sheer beauty of nature surrounding us serves as one more reminder of this remarkable place and the incredible journey we have taken.

We’ll enjoy one more mid-morning game drive, actively looking for predators, grazers, and all sorts of vibrant birdlife before heading back to Nairobi.

We anticipate arriving in Nairobi at approximately 16:30 hrs (4:30 PM). We’ll comfortably bring you to your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO).
