Located in central Serengeti, the Lahia Tented Lodge sits upon a hill with captivating views over the vast landscape, from all sides of the main lodge area and stunning bush views from the individual tents. In the center of the property stands the main lodge with a tall thatched roof and screeded floors.
The comfortable lounge area has colorful sofas and next to that is the dining area with individual tables set up with white tablecloths and many windows offering views out over the savannah. A deck leads off the main area where there are a few chairs and tables set up, leading onto the glistening rim-flow swimming pool. All areas offer a touch of African influence, art, and decor and the entire area is warm and bright.
The nearby Grumeti River and Seronera area mean game viewing is at its best around here, and during the “Great Migration” season, guests have a chance to witness this from the comfort of their tents. The cozy campfire is the perfect way for guests to unwind at the end of the day, regaling tales of their day on safari to other guests. There is a small gift shop on site and guests have access to laundry services during their stay.
The Lahia Tented Lodge lies in the Seronera region of the Serengeti National Park, a 50-minute flight from Arusha to the Seronera Airstrip, and the transfer from the airstrip to the lodge will be approximately 18 miles. Guests who prefer to drive will have a journey of five to six hours on good roads.
The 25 spacious tents at Lahia Tented Camps are beautifully decorated, the large king-size bed or two twin beds are covered with a mosquito net. Bedding is plush with crisp, linens and soft colors in cushions and rugs. There is a small sitting area and a large deck, and all tents are raised, enhancing the views of the surrounding savannah. Each tent has a fan and a tea/coffee-making facility and all guests are offered room service during their stay. The bathrooms are en-suite with a vanity, toilet, and shower. There is also an outdoor shower privately set up amid the beauty of the surrounding bush.
