Capture the sheer beauty of the Northern Serengeti when staying at Mara Under Canvas. The luxury mobile camp offers unforgettable memories of a safari through the plains of the Serengeti between June and November. Comfortable tents offer private verandahs to take in the sights and sounds of the surrounding wilderness. Meals are served fine-dining style in the dining tent or out in the bush upon arrangements.
There is a campfire lit each night and guests can sit around the crackling flames sharing stories of their day on safari. Perhaps, relax in the small lounge and tented bar area. Perched near the banks of the Mara River, game viewing is excellent year-round, with an exciting opportunity to witness the Great Migration in July and October.
Mara Under Canvas is located in the Mara Triangle region of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Guests will fly into the Kogatende Airstrip from Arusha Airport, a flight taking approximately one hour, and then drive through the wilderness for half an hour to reach the campsite. Driving from Arusha is a long journey of between eight and 10 hours, depending on the exact location of the camp at the time of year.
11 luxury tents stand privately appointed, each with a private verandah opening up to the surrounding wilderness. There are 10 Standard Tented Suites with king-size beds and one Family Unit that boasts two bedrooms, both en-suite. A lounge area separates the bedrooms and the verandah is shared. Each tented suite has a wardrobe, mosquito netting over the bed, and a small sitting area. The decor is classic African camping design with crisp, white linens and splashes of color in the pillows and soft lighting behind the beds. In-tent dining is available to guests during their stay. All en-suite rooms have a shower, vanity, and toilet with modern bathroom amenities to use.
