Discover Kenya’s Wild Side – All in One Day
Leave the palm-fringed beaches of Malindi or Watamu behind for a full-day immersion in the African wilderness of Tsavo East National Park. Your journey begins with an early morning pick-up followed by a scenic drive along the Malindi–Sala Gate road as the African sun rises over the savannah.
Morning Game Drive
Arriving at Tsavo East, you’ll begin your first game drive across its open, rugged terrain. The sparse vegetation of this vast park offers excellent visibility—making it easier to spot wildlife. Your expert driver-guide will lead the way in tracking the park’s famed red-dust elephants, often seen rolling in the oxide-rich soil or gathering at watering holes with zebras, antelope, and giraffes.
Lunch Stop
We’ll pause at a safari lodge or tented camp for a relaxing lunch, offering a glimpse of what longer safari stays could look like.
Afternoon Game Drive
After lunch, continue exploring the park in search of more wildlife. In addition to elephants and lions, Tsavo East is home to buffalo, cheetah, leopard, hippos, crocodiles, gerenuk, dik-dik, and more than 500 bird species. The Eland and Hirola are rarer sightings you might encounter on this rewarding drive.
Return to the Coast
As the afternoon fades, we’ll head back toward the coast, arriving in Malindi or Watamu around 6:00 pm. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or beach resort with a day full of memories and a story to share.
