Day 01 :

Daily Itinerary

Nairobi – Aberdare National Park

Distance: 160 km – Approx. 3 hours

Your adventure begins at 08:00 hrs with a warm welcome from your personal driver/guide, who will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or the airport.

We’ll journey north through Kenya’s rich agricultural heartland, passing fertile plantations of tea and coffee — the lifeblood of many local communities. Along the way, we’ll stop at Karatina Market, the largest open-air market in East Africa, for a vibrant immersion into local culture, colors, and commerce.

As we ascend into the misty highlands, the cool mountain air and deep green forest canopy of Aberdare National Park will signal our arrival. This mountainous park is unlike any other in Kenya, boasting lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and rare wildlife species tucked within its bamboo groves and alpine moors.

You’ll check in to one of Aberdare’s iconic Tree Hotels – either The Ark or Treetops Lodge. These raised lodges offer a truly unique experience: from your balcony or viewing deck, observe elephants, buffalo, antelope, and other wildlife drawn to the floodlit waterhole and saltlick just below.

Aberdare is also home to rarities like the giant forest hog, the bongo antelope, and perhaps even the elusive African golden cat. Keep your eyes peeled — these highland forests are full of surprises.

Settle in and enjoy the serene, almost mystical atmosphere of this mountain paradise. Your night among the treetops will be one to remember.

Day 02 :

Aberdare – Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary

Distance: 160 km – Approx. 3 hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After a peaceful night among the treetops, we’ll enjoy breakfast overlooking the misty highland forest. Then, we’ll bid farewell to Aberdare and begin our journey north toward the renowned Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary.

Along the way, take in sweeping views of Mount Kenya, whose snow-capped peak dominates the horizon. As we drive through the patchwork of central Kenya’s farmlands and traditional homesteads, you’ll witness the rhythm of rural life in this rich and fertile region.

Upon arriving at Ol Pejeta, your game viewing adventure continues in this exceptional reserve — a model of conservation and home to an impressive array of wildlife. The sanctuary is known for its high density of predators, including six resident prides of lions, elusive leopards, fast-moving cheetahs, and the rarely seen African wild dogs.

You’ll also encounter a host of herbivores — zebra, giraffe, impala, gazelle, buffalo, and hippo, as well as monkeys and baboons in the more wooded areas.

Ol Pejeta is also East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary, offering a rare opportunity to see these magnificent but endangered creatures up close in a specially protected environment.

Another highlight awaits: the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary — the only place in Kenya where you can observe chimpanzees. These rescued or orphaned primates live in a natural forested enclosure and are cared for with dedication and compassion. Watching their playful antics and complex social interactions is both heartwarming and unforgettable.

After a full day of immersive wildlife experiences, you’ll check in at your selected safari lodge or tented camp within or near the sanctuary, where you’ll unwind and enjoy the tranquil sounds of the African night.

Day 03 :

Ol Pejeta – Nairobi

Distance: 220 km – Approx. 4 hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

As dawn breaks over Ol Pejeta, the soft morning light brings the sanctuary to life. We’ll set out early for a final game drive, soaking in the peaceful beauty of the wildlife stirring in the crisp morning air.

Afterwards, enjoy a hearty breakfast before we begin our scenic drive back to Nairobi.

Along the way, reflect on the remarkable sights and unforgettable moments from the past three days — experiences few get to enjoy in Kenya’s extraordinary parks and reserves.

We expect to arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon, around 16:30 hrs (4:30 pm), where you will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey.
