DAY 1: DIANI – TSAVO EAST – TSAVO WEST
Distance: Approx. 250 km | Drive Time: 5 hours (combined travel & game drives)
An early morning departure at 04:30 hrs marks the beginning of your dual-park adventure. As you traverse the scenic countryside, the first light of dawn will break across the rolling coastal hills, setting the tone for your safari experience.
Tsavo East National Park – The Red Elephant Kingdom
By mid-morning, we arrive at Tsavo East, Kenya’s largest and oldest park, renowned for its dust-red elephants, expansive plains, and impressive game sightings. Our first game drive winds through this rugged terrain in search of the big five and other wildlife like giraffe, zebra, impala, and a variety of birds.
We’ll pause at famous wildlife hubs like:
Mudanda Rock – a natural vantage point overlooking a waterhole where elephants gather.
Aruba Dam – an oasis attracting a diversity of wildlife.
Lunch will be served either at a scenic lodge or picnic spot within the park.
Tsavo West – The Wild Frontier
In the afternoon, we drive across to Tsavo West National Park, a land of lava flows, craters, and spring-fed oases. Game drive en route to your lodge or tented camp offers chances to spot lions, leopards, buffalos, and other elusive species.
Enjoy dinner and overnight in a safari lodge or tented camp nestled in the wilderness of Tsavo West.

DAY 2: TSAVO WEST – DIANI
Distance: Approx. 250 km | Drive Time: 5 hours (including safari and return travel)
Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a sunrise game drive, capturing the early stirrings of the park’s wildlife.
Then, we venture to Mzima Springs – a lush, green haven fed by underground streams from the Chyulu Hills. On a short walking safari, observe hippos, crocodiles, fish, and birds in crystal-clear waters from a submerged viewing chamber.
If time allows, we’ll proceed to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, home to the endangered black rhino.
We’ll enjoy a scenic lunch before beginning our journey back to the coast.
Expect to arrive at your Diani Beach resort in the early evening, your heart and camera full of unforgettable safari memories.

Day 01 :

Daily Itinerary

DIANI – TSAVO EAST – TSAVO WEST

Your safari adventure begins early with a pickup from your Diani or South Coast beach resort. From here, we’ll journey inland, crossing the Likoni Ferry and traveling along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway.
Tsavo East National Park – Home of the Red Elephants
Arriving at Tsavo East National Park, we’ll immediately begin our game drives, focusing on the Aruba Dam and Kanderi Swamp – both known as wildlife hotspots. This vast wilderness is famous for its dust-red elephants, buffalo, lion, leopard, hippos, and an array of antelope species like waterbuck, lesser kudu, gerenuk, and the rare hirola.
You’ll traverse open savannah and acacia-dotted plains, with panoramic views and ample photo opportunities as we search for the park’s incredible variety of wildlife.
Tsavo West National Park – Landscapes & Legends
By mid-afternoon, we’ll cross over to Tsavo West National Park, a dramatically different terrain with rolling hills, ancient lava flows, and lush oases. Here, the safari continues with game drives en route to the Rhino Sanctuary, where we hope to spot the critically endangered black rhino in their protected habitat.
We’ll end the day with more wildlife sightings before heading to your safari lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Tsavo East: Dust-red elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, lesser kudu, gerenuk, waterbuck, and over 500 species of birds.

Day 02 :

TSAVO WEST – DIANI
Distance: 280 km
Drive Time: Approx. 6–7 hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
The early bird catches the worm.
We’ll put that saying to the test as we venture out just after dawn for a pre-breakfast game drive, the best time to witness the African wilderness come alive. Watch as the savannah stirs to life — predators on the move, grazers in the golden light, and a hush across the land as nature slowly awakens.
Mzima Springs – A Refreshing Oasis
After breakfast, we’ll continue our adventure with a visit to the stunning Mzima Springs, one of Tsavo West’s hidden gems. This lush, spring-fed oasis is a dramatic contrast to the surrounding volcanic terrain.
Here, we’ll leave the safari jeep behind and explore the springs on foot. Along the shaded trails, you’ll encounter hippos wallowing, crocodiles sunning, exotic freshwater fish, and a kaleidoscope of birdlife in the surrounding greenery.
Return to Diani
Following this refreshing stop, we’ll journey back to the coast, driving through ever-changing scenery from savannah plains to coastal greenery. We expect to reach your Diani Beach resort by early evening, where your safari experience ends — but your memories of the wild will last a lifetime.
